The Ramseys
When Vintage & Modern Mix
Nothing highlights great food like a bright, simple white kitchen. Drew and Courtney Ramsey nailed it with their historic 1927 home and kitchen renovation in the Gatewood addition of OKC. There they reside with their daughter, Violet, and dogs, Loki and Rook. The kitchen screams clean with a fresh coat of white paint on the cabinets, stainless appliances, and sleek, brass hardware to give it a timeless look. Splashes of color were added with “California-style” open shelving using eclectic pieces from Anthropologies, West Elm, Ikea and Target alongside some vintage touches and family heirlooms. Courtney’s great grandmother’s sugar canister sits atop the counter holding utensils.
The upper cabinets were removed to give the kitchen an open and airy feel. Courtney opted for quartz to give the countertops a marble look without the fuss. A wall leading to the dining room was knocked out to open the room up into a gathering place for friends and family. The original hardwood floors (covered by tile when they moved in) didn’t make it through restoration. The new hardwood floors were matched to keep a cohesive look to the adjacent dining room. Great job, guys!
