An Afternoon and Evening in Shawnee

Before the Internet, before cell phones, before 300 channels of nothing, all you could do was head over to your town’s main street and drive up and down, talking with your friends and people watching. This was called “dragging main.” Now, the city’s sounds can be too much and it’s time to spend an afternoon and evening exploring Oklahoma’s quieter towns. Shawnee’s Main Street provides just such an opportunity.
