Ingredients

SERVINGS: Makes 1 large pitcher
  • 8 standard black tea or Darjeeling tea bags ( A black tea-Bergamot would be nice, too.)
  • 3 cups water to brew
  • 1/4 green cardamom pods, lightly crushed
  • 1 medium sized Valencia orange thinly sliced with the peel
  • 3 tablespoons (or more) agave nectar (optional for a sweeter tea)

Preparation

In a saucepan or tea pot add the cardamom pods. Add three cups of water and bring to a boil. Next, add the tea bags and allow the tea to steep until cooled. Discard the tea bags but reserve the cardamom pods. Pour the concentrated tea into your favorite tea vessel, including the cardamom pods. Add agave nectar as desired. Slowly fill the container with cold filtered water to desired Ice Tea strength. Add the sliced orange. Store in a covered container in your refrigerator, and drink when ready.
