Peanut Butter and Strawberry Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup banana, peeled
  • ¼ cup peanut butter
  • 1 Tablespoon flaxseed meal
  • ½ cup ice
  • 1 cup strawberries, frozen
  • ½ cup milk of choice
  • 2 Tablespoons date paste or 2 fresh medjool dates

Preparation

You can make this smoothie one of two ways. You can blend all of the ingredients together to make a lovely, light pink smoothie. Or, you can have a little fun and create a swirl smoothie.

To make a swirl smoothie, follow this method: first, blend the banana, peanut butter, ground flaxseed, and ice in a high-speed blender until smooth. Depending on your blender, you may need to add a splash of milk to get the blades to catch and start blending. If you are using frozen bananas, use ½ cup of almond milk in place of the ice. Pour this blend into a separate container. We use a 16-ounce measuring cup.

Next, blend the strawberries, date paste or dates, and milk until smooth. Alternate pouring each blended component into your drinking cup. Give it all a swirl and enjoy!
