Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Sift together the dry ingredients. Cream together the margarine and sugar. Add the egg and egg yolk and mix well. Blend in the vanilla and maple flavoring. Add the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Mold rounded teaspoons of dough into a ball. Dip into reserved egg white and place onto three pecan pieces (rounded side up). On greased baking sheet, bake for 10-12 minutes. To make frosting: combine unsweetened chocolate, butter, and milk into a double boiler. Melt and beat until smooth. Blend in the powdered sugar a little at a time. Beat until smooth and glossy. It’s sometimes tricky to get the right consistency. Make sure it’s not too runny. Frost cooled cookies generously.
