We all know how it is to make it almost halfway through a productive workday and then just hit a wall. We become “hangry” and feel a little caged. The thought of lunch on the horizon can perk us up a bit, but our typical work day lunches can be boring and uninspiring. What if an exotic poached pear salad or a warm and fluffy fried chicken pot pie was an option? Would you choose that over vending machine fare, a packed pb&j, or the same old sandwich from the same old place down the street? Fabulous food is the clear choice, and I can tell you where to find it: the conveniently located Kitchen No. 324.

What began as a simple counter-service-only breakfast and lunch spot for the businessmen and women of downtown OKC has grown into a full-service hotspot for locals and travelers alike. Kitchen No. 324 started as a collaboration with Sandridge Energy with the aim to create a comfortable and convenient location for the morning coffee run. Over time though, people began asking for more, and Kitchen No. 324 answered by adding a dinner menu, full bar, and an increasingly popular weekend brunch. Kitchen No. 324 aspires to create seasonally inspired dishes as well as fresh takes on old classics.

General Manager Melissa Skaggs says the Kitchen Salad is a large draw for the lunchtime crowd. This salad is served with hand-carved beef tenderloin, avocado, house bacon, blue cheese, roasted corn, and sweet onion vinaigrette. However, the chefs can cater completely to customers’ desires, including the needs of gluten-free and vegan diners, so you can add or subtract anything you’d like to make this salad your own. For those in search of a heartier meal to power through that afternoon slump, they also recently added a new beef burger nestled in a marble rye bun and topped with Gruyere and house-made pastrami. With sides like the Bleu Cheese Biscuit Pudding or the Crispy Cauliflower with Smoked Cheddar Fondue, served with both lunch and dinner, Kitchen No. 324 offers perfect complements to every entree. The food is enticing and original, but not so heavy that nodding off in your cubicle becomes a real risk. It’s truly the perfect lunch spot.

So the next time you hit that noon hour and begin daydreaming about a truly satisfying mid-day meal, stop by Kitchen No. 324 and get ready to tackle the rest of your day. Don’t forget about it as a dinner or brunch option either!
